Positive Behaviour Support and our role at AHNHS

At AH Nursing & Health Services, our Behaviour Support Practitioners bring extensive experience in education, disability, counselling and community wellbeing. We have supported individuals across schools, families and therapeutic settings and understand the complexity of behaviour in real-life environments. We work alongside children, adolescents and adults to create practical, person‑centred strategies that enhance safety, participation and quality of life.

We believe behaviour is meaningful communication. Our role is to understand the reasons behind behaviour and support individuals, families and teams to build lasting, positive change.

We recognise that behaviour support should never feel clinical or corrective. Our approach prioritises connection, dignity and collaboration so that individuals feel respected and supported throughout the process.

Our PBS Team

Our Positive Behaviour Support services are delivered by Ali and Nicole, practitioners with experience across education, counselling, disability and community wellbeing.

They bring a warm and collaborative approach, combining practical experience with evidence‑based strategies. Both have spent many years working alongside children, young people and families who experience challenges with regulation, engagement and participation.

Ali and Nicole share a strong belief that behaviour is communication and that meaningful change happens through understanding, connection and collaboration. They focus on helping individuals feel safe, supported and capable while building practical skills that improve everyday life.

Our approach

We place the rights, health, culture, choices and wellbeing of participants at the centre of everything we do.

Our approach is:

Person centred
Family Focused

We understand that behaviours of concern often reflect stress within the nervous system, communication challenges or unmet needs. Through assessment and collaboration we support regulation, skill development and environmental adjustments that promote safety and participation.
